We are pleased to announce the general availability of Chevereto Cloud, our highly anticipated, fully managed solution designed to bring Chevereto to a whole new audience.

You've always been able to self-host Chevereto, but now, you don't have to. We manage the servers and the infrastructure, so you can enjoy our software without the technical overhead.

What is Chevereto Cloud?

Chevereto Cloud is a new way to run Chevereto, without running a server. Instead of provisioning infrastructure, installing dependencies, and staying on top of security patches yourself, you can launch a fully managed media sharing platform in about 60 seconds.

The best part? You keep total control of your files. Chevereto Cloud connects directly to your preferred storage provider (AWS S3, Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Wasabi, etc.). Your uploads are never stored on our servers as they go straight to the storage you own and control. You get the convenience of a managed platform without handing your data over to a third party.

Cloud vs. Self-Hosted

Self-hosting Chevereto isn't going anywhere. If you want full control over your server, your stack, and your infrastructure, that option will always be there. In fact, it's what makes us different from Imgur, Flickr, and the rest of the closed-source services.

Cloud is for when you want the same great platform without the server work. You skip the provisioning, the updates, the patching, and the "why is my server down at 2 AM" moments. Chevereto handles that layer for you.

Because it uses a BYOS (Bring Your Own Storage) model, you're never locked into anyone's ecosystem. Cloud is for people who want to own their platform and their data, but not the server underneath it. Plus, it's portable by design. If your needs change, you can easily move between Cloud and Self-Hosted. It's not a one-way door.
